This is Sheridan College’s incubator for early-stage startups and companies. Sheridan EDGE has a great community for entrepreneurs that are looking to get started with their ideas. If you have a social enterprise or just starting out check it out. EDGE also offers a coworking space and hosts number of events for entrepreneurs throughout the year.
2. Idea Mississauga
Idea Mississauga is the new innovation hub at Square One, supporting Mississauga’s startups and small businesses. It has a coworking space and number of programs for entrepreneurs. This is supported by the City of Mississauga. If you’re in Square One Shopping Mall next time be sure to drop by Idea Missisauga as it’s above the food court in the mall.
3. ICUBE Incubator
University of Toronto has a Mississauga branch called UTM. The ICUBE is the incubator at UTM that supports student and alumni startups. If you’re a student at UTM you can get connected for building your own idea or join an early-stage startup to gain more experience in your field. The great thing about early-stage startups is that the learning curve is huge. You can build that experience to go onto bigger things! I wrote extensively about breaking into startup. If you didn’t get that internship at a big company, get your feet wet by joining a startup. You won’t regret it as it will tremendously help your career get off the ground.
4. SpinUp
Got an innovative life science idea? This is a new incubator by University of Toronto at Mississauga. SpinUp is dedicated for life science startups. It specifically has a wet lab for life science innovation. If you have an idea in this area, having an access to a wet can make a huge difference!
